Library News and Information

The woman who was fired for reporting a patron viewing child pornography in a public library should not only have her job reinstated but get a raise.  I believe that people are free to do what they want and look at what they want in a public library.  I believe in the freedom of information.  But if a patron is clearly violating the law, then the police should be notified.  I do not believe that the library worker did anything wrong except disagree with her supervisor and while that can be grounds for dismissal, I think it is more important to pay attention to the larger issue here.
